Kyra Phillips' fawing interview with General Petraeus
There's something quite disturbing about the enthusiasm of journalists to dress up in faux-military costume. The desire to identify with the military is palpable, and seeps into all their reporting. See, for instance, this creepily fawning interview with the PR man for the ongoing slaughter in Iraq, David Petraeus (which gets especially bad at around the 18 minute mark).

In the opening scene of "Paint by Committee," Alex demonstrates her commitment to the theory of 19th Century German egoist anarchist Max Stirner. She paints an A in a circle, traditionally the symbol of anarchism, but refuses any attempt to link this to any ideological "ism." Rather, she says, the symbol represents only her own name, that is, her sovereign ego.

Song: Put On Your Sunday Clothes
I love how Earth in this movie kind of has a combination of Metroid Prime and Fallout. It's an entirely planet filled with nothing with garbage were very little life can survive, but it has that nostalgic feeling and beauty to it because of the music. Also, just like those two, the atmosphere is absolutely brilliant.

Michael Crawford (Cornelius in the Hello Dolly movie Wall-e watches) sat down with director to tell him the story of filming the song. They felt he was hitting “out there” good enough so Gene Kelly tells him between takes “Kid, you gotta sing this like it means more than the world. This is bigger than the universe, just think of the stars.” So seeing the song he sang thinking about the stars used nearly 40 years later to describe the stars was mind blowing to him.
